The author
Duke Watrous
Father. Builder. Libertarian. I have run companies, lost companies, written books, designed a game, and kept going. The work is how I stay useful.
Short version
I started working in the family business at 15. I sold books to schools as a teenager. I ran a parasail company in North Texas and later a moving company with branches in Dallas, Austin, and Houston.
I have also been a ranch hand, welder, truck driver, boat captain, and board-game inventor. I believe people can build a life if they will work and think for themselves. That idea runs through the fatherhood book, the mind book, and the fiction.
Book sales have supported the Ashley Watrous Foundation. The foundation site will be rebuilt next. This site is for the catalog.
